We never planned on being a worldwide provider of pigeon & dove rescuing & rehoming expertise & assistance but thanks to the power of our Palomacy Help Group, we are! We began in 2007 as a small, local volunteer-powered, charity-funded rescue created to rescue & rehome birds who were found lost, injured, dumped, starving in the San Francisco California Bay Area. We started this effort because nobody else was helping them. Most animal rescues turn them away as domestic, non-native or kill them (since they are unreleasable & were considered unadoptable). Today we are an incredible & fast growing community of compassionate people from all over helping each other to help these birds who, by the many millions, are exploited & endangered, but paradoxically underserved by the animal welfare community.
