This June Bonus Day, GlobalGiving is matching donations up to $1,000 per donor at different percentages based on organization’s Partner Rewards Level: 30% for Partners, 40% for Leaders, and 50% for Superstars. (MickaCoo is a SUPERSTAR!) There is $90,000 available in matching funds and they’re offering a $1,000 bonus award for the project with most individual donors and another for the most money raised. Matching begins at 6 am PST and lasts until funds run out!

Solano Stroll through Berkeley & Albany
Over five hundred vendors, non-profit organizations, food booths and entertainers. Begins at 10 am with the opening of Solano Avenue businesses and Stroll booths and the kick-off is the theme parade with about 100 groups. After the parade, you can visit one of 50 entertainers, 50 food booths, 150 juried arts and crafters, state of the art mechanical rides, and 150 community non-profit and government organizations, not to mention the unique and popular professional services, restaurants, and shops already here on Solano Avenue. You will hear the best in local music, dance and other performances and absolutely stunning costumes from all over the globe! This is a family event featuring a special area set aside just for kids that offer giant slides, carnival games, clowns, jugglers, stilt walkers, face paintersmagicians, and more!

Cupertino Fall Festival is returning to Cupertino Memorial Park. The event is co- presented by the Rotary Club of Cupertino and the World Journal. Free parking is available across the street at De Anza College.
There will be information on seed saving, organic heirloom tomato growing strategies in the Bay Area, and cooking and canning your own tomato sauces.
Education is a major part of the festival. Activities begin in the Earth Zone, with presenters providing tips and information on sustainability, wellness and emergency preparedness. Businesses and nonprofit groups will display the latest energy-saving programs, alternative vehicles and other green activities at their booths.
The cultural fair will show off traditions from countries around the world through displays and interactive activities. The park’s amphitheater stage will also highlight musical and dance performances from around the world.
New this year will be the addition of the Greensteaders’ Tomato Bash. This event, previously held in a separate location, focuses on local farming and garden-grown organic heirloom tomatoes. The event will provide more than 60 varieties of heirloom tomatoes for tasting and seed saving.
There will also be tomato-flavored ice cream and heirloom ketchup to sample, as well as a variety of finger foods.
For younger visitors, the Kids Zone will feature rides, jump houses and crafts, as well as a petting zoo.
Local high school Amnesty International groups will be sponsoring an area dedicated to raising awareness on local human rights issues with games and activities. A variety of international gourmet food trucks will also be on hand.
