CALLING ALL ARTISTS! To celebrate Pigeon Appreciation Day — June 13 — a Palomacy donor has offered to donate $25 for each submission of an original drawing or painting of pigeons and/or doves (up to $1,000). The fundraiser will be open June 1 — June 10, with winners announced June 13.
Entries must be original artwork (digital art using tools such as Procreate are accepted — but no use of artificial intelligence of any kind is allowed), and all skill levels are welcome. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried to draw or paint — just let your love of pigeons and doves guide and inspire you! A committee of Palomacy volunteers will select their favorite entries and the top 10 will be featured here and on our website — and one will be selected to become a Palomacy t-shirt!
E-mail your submissions to heather@pigeonrescue.org. PLEASE INCLUDE your first name, last initial, and city – and feel free to tell us what inspired the artwork! We look forward to seeing your amazing creativity!
Palomacy — It’s Pigeon & Dove Diplomacy
Palomacy is a volunteer-powered, donation-funded, foster-based nonprofit rescue located in the San Francisco Bay Area of California saving the lives of domestic (unreleasable) pigeons and doves. (Our EID is 87-2836252.) We provide vet care, foster homes and adoptions. Since 2007, Palomacy has placed more than 2,000 birds and helped countless others through coaching, education and referral. While our organization hatched as a local effort to help pigeons and doves in the San Francisco Bay Area, the need for what we do is unlimited. We are one of the only organizations in the world (and possibly the first) completely dedicated to rescuing, rehabbing and rehoming the lost, injured, or displaced pigeon and dove survivors of exploitative businesses, hobbies and sports. With your support, we rescue in Northern California and help birds from all over the world through our Palomacy Help Group.
